Amanda Frick
Amanda Frick

Amanda Frick was born and raised in Emmaus, and has become very active in the community in the past several years, so she was excited to extend her involvement to teaching at Seven Generations. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education at Cedar Crest College, she worked as a Learning Support Specialist in Allentown and Parkland School Districts, and as a Creative and Performing Arts Director for the ESF Summer Camp in Haverford, Pennsylvania. She now enjoys incorporating her knowledge of the area into her lesson plans, encouraging students to be mindful stewards of their local community.

Amanda now lives in Phoenixville, and loves to go kayaking, hiking and mountain-biking with her chocolate lab, Madison. Her favorite thing to do is spend the weekend camping and hiking with her family, but she also has a deep passion for the arts which she satisfies by teaching ballet, writing and directing plays, and painting. What is it like to teach at Seven Generations?
I love Seven Gen! The sense of community here is overwhelming. Whether it is parents, students or the faculty, someone is always willing to listen and care. This support allows me to feel like I can truly reach my students at a new level: one filled with interest, love and respect.

Lisa Fritz
Lisa Fritz

One of Seven Generations founding members, Lisa Fritz grew up in East Stroudsburg but has been living in Emmaus for the last 12 years with her husband Rob and two beautiful children, Tessa and Joshua. She earned a BS degree in elementary education from East Stroudsburg University, and has been teaching, taking courses and reading educational books ever since.  Prior to joining Seven Generations’ teaching staff, she spent two years teaching 4th grade in East Stroudsburg, five years teaching 5th grade in the Boyertown Area School District and several years teaching beginner piano lessons to local children. One of her strengths as a teacher is her ability to get to know each of her students, and to create an atmosphere of mutual respect in the classroom. She chairs the Culture and Character Committee, which devises programs to implement Seven Generation's core values and support a healthy school culture.

She credits her son and daughter with opening her eyes to all the wonderful things that are out in the world. They've taught her the importance of investigating nature, being mindful of her surroundings and remembering all the little things that truly matter. When Lisa isn’t spending lots of time outdoors with family and friends, she loves to read and listen to music. Contact Lisa Fritz at lisa.fritz@sevengen.org.

What is it like to teach at Seven Generations?
It's a dream come true to work at Seven Gen. The kids are wonderful and filled with an awesome sense of wonder. Seeing the excitement in their eyes as we immerse ourselves in learning about the environment makes every day fabulous!

Louise Moyer
Louise Moyer

Louise Moyer considers herself a "life-long learner" who constantly strives to develop personally and professionally so she can better serve the students in her care. She adheres to W.B. Yeats' directive that, "Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire," and hopes to light that fire in the hearts of every child who enters her classroom! She comes to Seven Generations after transitioning from a 17-year career as an attorney for a Philadelphia law firm to an exciting new teaching career. Having earned a BS degree in business administration from Drexel University, a JD from Villanova School of Law, and Elementary K-6 Certification and teacher education/training from Cedar Crest College, she spent last year as a substitute teacher in the Brandywine Heights Area and Northwestern Lehigh School Districts. In additon to teaching, children's literacy is another passion of hers. She views books as an open door to worlds that children may never experience, with the power to foster imaginative, curious minds. Her home is a mini-library filled with children's books, and she has organized author visits for her children's school district for the past six years. When she isn't teaching at Seven Gen, she plans to pursue a Reading Specialist Certification in the near future.

Louise and her family own a "farm in progress" in the Brandywine Heights area where they grow several crops, including corn and hay, and nurture their very own wetland ecosystem.  She is active in various youth organizations such as Cub Scouts and a local Berks County 4H equine club, and has taught Sunday School at her church for the past 11 years. She loves spending time with her sons (ages 13, 11 and 5), their 3 horses (with which her sons compete in local horse shows), and their dog. She also enjoys reading, hiking and experiencing the great outdoors.Contact Louise Moyer at louise.moyer@sevengen.org.

What is it like to teach at Seven Generations?
Teaching at Seven Generations is a dream come true for me! I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach in an integrated learning envrionment. Education is best achieved through engaging, hands-on, project-based learning, and our natural environment provides a myriad of learning opportunities. Children learn by doing, as an old Chinese proverb says best: "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." I am firmly committed to educating our youth in a manner that instills in them a sense of social and moral responsibility. The youth of today need to discover and practice basic principles of respect, community-mindedness, citizenship and environmental stewardship if our world is to survive for generations to come. I am very much looking forward to meeting and working with our second graders, their parents, the entire Seven Generations family, and our community partners to create a fun and rewarding educational experience!
